Module - Product Form Overview

Products: The Products section gives you the ability to sell items on your website. Our default shopping cart uses PayPal for all of the transactions.
  1. New Product: This is where you can add a new product to your site.
    1. General Tab: This is where you will enter in the information about the product you wish to sell.
      1. Name: This is where you will add the name of the Product.
      2. Product Code: If you have a specific code or ID for your product you can enter it here. This is an option section.
      3. Image: This is where you can select an image for the product. To upload an image for the product see Upload Image.
      4. Featured: You can select this check box if you wish your product to be a Featured Product. This is optional.
      5. Intro: This is where you can enter in text information about your product.
      6. Body: This is where you can enter in text information about your product.
    2. Pricing Tab: This is where you will add the cost and shipping of the product you are selling.
      1. Pricing Options: This section will list the options you have created for the product.
      2. Add Pricing: This section is where you will add the pricing information about the product.
        1. Label: This will be the name of the pricing option you are creating.
        2. Price: This is where you will enter in the cost of the product.
        3. Shipping: This is where you can add the shipping cost. If there is no shipping charge for your item put in 0.00 for the shipping cost. Do not leave it blank.
    3. Categories Tab: This tab is where you can add your product to specific Product Categories that are in the Product Categories Section.
      1. Available Categories and Selected Categories:: This section will show you the Product Categories that have been created and are available for your product to be placed in. To add a product to an existing Category click on it and then click on the ">>" button. You can also remove the product from a category by selecting it from the Selected Categories box and clicking on the "<<" button. If you do not see a category that your product will be in, you can add a new Product Category in the Product Categories Section.
    4. Options Tab:
      1. Product Options: This section will show you the options that are already set up for your product.
      2. Add Options: This is where you can add options for your product.
        1. Field Type: This is where you will select how the end user will select the product options. You have the following options to select from:
          1. Check box: This will display a check box for the end users to select the item.
          2. Radio button: This will display a radio button for the end users to select the item
          3. Select box: This will display a Select box for the end users to select the item.
          4. Select box Multi: This will display a Select box for the end users to select multiple items.
          5. Text: This will just display the text in the label with limited characters.
          6. Text area: This will just display the text in the label.
          7. Title: This will just display the title for the product.
        2. Label: This will be the text to the left of the field you have selected. It is the name of the option you are adding.
        3. Style Tags: If you understand how CSS works you can add your own style tags here. (For advanced users)
        4. Options Set: If you choose select box then you will have to fill in what information is being displayed in the select box. This area is where you will add in your options. You will need to separate your options with commas. You can only select one of the options that you have listed.
        5. Multi Select Rows: This will set the number of options to display for the Select Box Multi. If you choose select box Multi you will fill in your options in the option set.
    5. Galleries Tab: This is where you can add an image gallery for the product you are selling. You can have one or more images for your product.
      1. Product Galleries: This is where you can add an image gallery for the product you are selling. You can have one or more images for your product. To do this you will have to upload images to your site and have created an image gallery. See Galleries above.
      2. Add Gallery: This is where you will add the gallery that you have created for your product.
  2. Editing a Product: If you already have a product that you have created to you can edit the settings that we have laid out above. Just select the product that you wish to edit from the product list and you will be in the product edit.

Module - Product Settings Form Overview

Product Settings: This is where you can enter in your PayPal information so you can receive payments for your products.
  1. PayPal Email address: Enter in your PayPal email address that your PayPal account was set up with.
  2. Checkout Type: You can select how the end users check out. You have the following options:
    1. Email: If you choose this option the shopping cart will just send you an email with the information you wanted to collect. You can use this option if you are colleting information for a quote. Note: Watchtower Hosting strongly recommends that you DO NOT USE Credit Card data on the form if you select this option.  Standard Email is not a secure protocol for transmitting sensitive data.
    2. PayPal: If you choose this option the end user will be directed to PayPal to pay for the items they selected.
  3. Checkout Form: This is where you can select a Form that you have created to collect the end users information when they are purchasing an item from your site.


Module - Product Categories Form Overview

Product Categories (P. Categories): You have the ability to separate your products into Product Categories. For example, if you are selling chocolate and you want to separate each type of candy bars by the manufacture. You would create a Product Category for Hershey and Mars. Then under each Product Category you will add the candy bars that are made by each manufacture.
  1. New Product Category:
    1. Name: This is where you will name the Category you are creating.
    2. Parent: If the category you are creating will fall under another Product Category you can select its parent here. If your new category is stand alone category then do not select a parent.
    3. Display Type: This is where you will select how the Product Category is displayed. You have the following options.
      1. Panel: If you select this, your product will display horizontally on the Bloc.
      2. Table: If you select this, your product will display vertically on the Bloc.
    4. Panel Columns/Table Rows: This is where you will add in how many columns or rows you wish to have.
  2. Editing a Product Category: If you have created a Product Category this is where you will edit it. You will see all the options in the Product Category that you can change.
